Join Hardware Meetup NZ on 27th June 2024 for a relaxed evening at Outset Ventures in Parnell, where we will showcase several companies leading the way in Innovation in wearable tech.
This event will feature a fireside chat with founders and builders, who are building interesting products from Aotearoa. Hear more about their products, their journey so far and their dreams for the future.
Our events are designed to bring together a wide range of the community, from startup founders and execs, to subject-matter experts, investors, students and general startup enthusiasts not only in Auckland but from all around NZ.

Speaker 1: Nikki Reynolds from Dynamic Body Research & Development
Nikki Reynolds, founder and CEO of Dynamic Body Research and Development, is a 20-year veteran of the sports footwear and apparel industry. Her passion is to inspire cutting-edge performance solutions based on foundational biomechanical and user experience insights. She had deep involvement in the recently released Nike M bra for breastfeeding mothers and the revolutionary use of flat knit in the creation of the high support FeNom bra featured in the women’s World Cup. With a blend of biomechanics and a dash of creativity, she's always whipping up fresh prototypes, inspiring us to think outside the box in creating the next big thing.
Speaker 2: Steve Leftly from Myovolt
Steve Leftly is the co-founder of Myovolt, a research-backed wearable technology designed for easy physiotherapy rehab. Myovolt wearable devices provide a neuromuscular treatment for MSK injuries that can be delivered anywhere, anytime, and without a clinician. Researchers around the world are now validating Myovolt as a remote treatment for neuro conditions such as stroke, MS, and neuropathy, to replace current rehab methods that are expensive and inaccessible for many people.
Speaker 3: James Bell-Booth from earSHOTS
James Bell-Booth is the founder, inventor and CEO of Earshots. Earshots is building a suite of hearable products based off their patented MagFit technology. Magfit uses the natural polarisation of gel coated magnets to create a perfect ear fit that never moves or falls out while doing any type of physical activity. Earshots has been recognised in global design and innovation awards including Time Magazine's Best Inventions and the Good Design awards in Australia.
MC: Mikayla Stokes
Mikayla Stokes is a mechatronics engineer at Crown Equipment making autonomous forklifts. She loves using tech to make cool wearable things like a light-up dress or 3D printed earrings. She's passionate about creating an inclusive community where any kid can pursue a future in STEM, and is the two time overall female winner of the BrightSparks inventing competition.
